    • Abstract:
The Age-Friendly Health Systems' (AFHS) 4M framework (What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility) is used to assess and mitigate elder mistreatment across the care continuum. While prevalent, elder mistreatment often is unseen and unaddressed. Linking to a model that crosses the care continuum can benefit victims by creating a broader system of surveillance, and can build upon different care settings' strengths. The AFHS initiative, led by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation, offers a framework uniquely positioned to address elder mistreatment.
