    • Abstract:
The article discusses the conceptualization of restorative justice in the Caribbean Area. It discourages the traditional approach of fighting crime which is based on retribution and incapacitation instead of rehabilitation by restoring the harm done to the victims as well as the offender even if the offender is being held accountable for the charges. The fundamental principles, underlying goals and the key values of restorative justice programs are discussed.
